52nd Street is called Swing Street or Swing Alley, thanks to the jazz clubs and colorful street life between 1930 and 1950. Every big jazz star had played there at least once. 

52nd Street is a 1.9 mile (around 3 km) long and goes from east to west in midtown Manhattan.
